FSI RULES AND REGULATIONS

FSI aims to nurture future talent and impart the ability of visual storytelling to keen learners of all ages so that they can share their stories and impact themselves and the world positively in their chosen field. To accomplish this it is imperative to create and maintain a school environment where this can be achieved and hence the following policies have been designed to achieve this mission of the school:

  • Every student on admission will need to abide by the rules and regulations of FSI.
  • The student will adhere to discipline and decorum in all places and under all circumstances especially within the school premises.
  • Every student shall attend classes regularly and with punctuality and must refrain from any action that may disturb the smooth working of the school.
  • Smoking, use of alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited in the school premises.
  • When classes are in session, students shall not enter or leave the class rooms without the permission of the faculty.
  • All creative work done by the students during the course of their study at school shall remain the property of the school and shall be used by the school as deemed appropriate.
  • All materials shot by the students by way or scratch reels, rushes, short films, final films etc. shall be the property of the Film School of India.
  • Upon Admission, no refund of fees is permitted irrespective of the reasons for such cancellation.
  • The school reserves the right to amend course curriculum and reschedule batches and classes and change faculty due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • If a student takes admission but does not show up for more than 3 months then the admission stands cancelled and the fees will not be refunded.
  • Every student shall handle school property with care and shall do everything in their power to preserve cleanliness and tidiness of the furniture, building, equipment and the premises. Students shall not disfigure the walls, doors, windows, furniture etc.
  • The loss or damage or disfigurement caused to the school property will be recovered in double from the concerned students through a fine.
  • Megaphones, loudspeakers, mobile phones etc. should not be used during the school without the express permission of the faculty, mentor or coach.
  • Indecent/ Inappropriate behaviour towards any student/ faculty will not be tolerated. Students responsible will be immediately terminated from the programme.
  • Students shall not be allowed to invite outsiders to enter the school campus.
  • Demonstrations/Campaigning of any type at any time is strictly prohibited within the campus.
  • Rioting/agitating against another group of students or against members of staff/faculty/coach/visiting faculty for any reason what so ever is prohibited.
  • If a student or a group of students or the entire student body have any grievance of any kind what so ever, it is to be brought to the attention of the faculty/ management.
  • Students shall be clean and decorous in dress, language and behaviour.
  • In all matters not specified in the rules above, students shall aim at conducting themselves respecting the rights of others and the reputation of the school.
  • Any further rules and regulations framed by the Management of FSI from time to time shall also be binding to all.
  • Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class. Late comers shall enter class-rooms only with the permission of the faculty.
  • Application for leave of absence for more than 4 classes due to illness should be supported by medical certificates.
  • Students absenting themselves from the school for more than 6 classes without satisfactory explanation will have their names removed from the roll and treated as temporary removal.
  • The responsibility of making sure that a student has earned the required minimum percentage of attendance (75% for the year) rests entirely upon the student. FSI insists on a minimum of 75% attendance during the course of instruction. The management on the recommendation of the concerned faculty may condone any shortage of attendance of any deserving student to a maximum of 4 classes.
  • Attendance at special seminars and guest lectures is compulsory.
  • In any case of dispute, the decision of FSI shall be final and binding and shall be accepted by the students without any objection. The student will not use a forum to protest against the same.
  • The Film School of India reserves the right to use the student name, photographs, testimonials and films in brochures, advertising, the web, and any other promotional or educational purpose.
  • All dates, locations, curriculum and fees are subject to change.
  • The admission and all contractual obligation of both parties are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Delhi, India only
