INSPIRED FILMMAKING AT FILM SCHOOL OF INDIA
The idea of filmmaking resonates with one and all. Yet, filmmaking is a remote and difficult dream for people to execute. The Film School of India is an innovative film-making school for students of all ages. Students script, shoot and edit films under the guidance of our mentors and coaches through our unique project based curriculum. We offer a weekend programme planned over 6 months to 1 year.
The aim of the film school is to give students the opportunity to use their creativity to make films.
FSI offers them the training, support and the necessary equipment and encouragement to make their own films as young people and as adults. Film programmes at FSI are crafted in a way that the students learn about themselves and the world around them through the wonder of filmmaking developed via this unique medium that combines arts with the latest technology.
Students at the end of the programme will acquire practical skills in filmmaking, ranging from script writing, acting, direction, cinematography, editing and sound design. The format of instruction is project based filmmaking and a budget will be set aside to make a film that will be formally distributed and screened at the end of the programme. The students will compulsorily rotate their positions as crew in all the different disciplines of filmmaking. This will help them understand different aspects of filmmaking and also spot their passion areas.
Working together in teams, younger students will also enhance their skills in language, comprehension, visualization, and expression. Above all, it will provoke them to think, feel and assess their beliefs in a whole new way. The Film School of India is based in Gurgaon in NCR and is the first and only one of its kind in the country.
